Uninstall Plugin Alert

Introduction

Uninstalling a plugin that a published app still depends on can break forms, lists, or processes in that app without warning. The Uninstall Plugin Alert plugin checks every published app before a plugin is uninstalled and lists the apps that use it, so administrators can cancel the action or review those apps first. It also adds a Show Usages lookup to see which apps use a plugin at any time.

Plugin Information

Plugins available in the bundle:

  • Uninstall Plugin Alert (UI HTML Injector)
  • Show Plugin Usage (UI HTML Injector)

This plugin bundle is compatible with Joget DX 9.1 and later.

Get Started

Prerequisites

  • Joget DX 9.1 or later.
  • Admin access to Joget.

Where To Get The Plugin

You can download the plugin from the JogetOSS GitHub Repository.

How To Install

  1. Download uninstall-plugin-alert-9.1.1.jar from the release page.
  2. In the Joget Console, go to Settings > Manage Plugins and click Upload.
  3. Select the JAR file and click Upload.
  4. Uninstall any older version of the plugin before uploading a new one.

The Joget Knowledge Base has more information on managing plugins.

How To Use It

No configuration is needed. Once installed, the plugin works on the Manage Plugins page.

Check Usage Before Uninstalling

  1. Navigate to Manage Plugins > Installed Plugins, select one or more plugins, and click Uninstall Plugin.
  2. The plugin checks all published apps. If any of them use the selected plugin, the confirmation dialog lists those apps. Each app name links to the app in App Composer.

  3. Click Cancel to keep the plugin, or OK to uninstall it anyway.

Look Up Usage At Any Time

  1. In Installed Plugins, click a plugin bundle row to open its details.
  2. Click a plugin row in the details pop-up. The Show Usages dialog lists the published apps that use it.

Note
The check covers published apps only. An app is listed when the plugin's JAR is bundled with that app, regardless of the JAR version.

Expected Outcome

Administrators see which published apps depend on a plugin before uninstalling it, and can look up plugin usage directly from Manage Plugins.
